Iowa Heartland SCTE Chapter Secretary Dave Fyffe and VP of Communications Curtis Dean attended the SCTE Chapter Leadership Conference (CLC) in Charlotte, North Carolina on April 9th and 10th. The CLC is an annual gathering of SCTE chapter leaders from across the country. A wide-range of topics aimed at local chapter development were discussed. Fyffe, who has been active in the Iowa Heartland chapter for many years, says the CLC provides great guidance on how to better deliver SCTE services and training to members. "I've been to the CLC several times and each time I learn something new about how we can better serve members," says Fyffe. It was Dean's first CLC visit and he found it very valuable for his role as VP of Communications. "I especially enjoyed the session on social media and how it can be used to communicate with members." Dave Fyffe, SCTE Iowa Heartland Chapter board member, presented information about SCTE membership and training opportunities during a session at the Iowa Association of Municipal Utilities (IAMU) Telecommunications Conference in Des Moines on Thursday, April 12th.
Fyffe, who is also Chair of the IAMU Telecom Committee, spoke to about 15 technicians from some of Iowa's 28 municipal broadband providers to promote SCTE membership and inform members of the in-person and online training sessions offered through the SCTE. |
